Aztec No 7
Our Aztecs were a long time in the making, we looked at traditional Aztec works of art and made sketches of the main features of the look in black & white, then we selected the stronger features from the many different styles that the Aztec people used. We stripped back all the surplus detail and concentrated on just the more powerful graphic features that were left, then we introduced the Reckless colour pallette to that and after alot of deliberation the Aztec collection was born.
Total time from initial work to launch was about six months. It was certainly worth the effort opening a different chapter in the Reckless story.
Look out for some of the more unusual inspirations featured on the pots- the Warriors shield of Ostrich feathers and his Chain Mail Armour, and how about the black graphics on Aztec 6 inspired by Elephant toe nails!
